Bed and breakfast, also known as B&B, is a term, originating in the United Kingdom, but now also used all over the world, for an establishment that offers accommodation and breakfast, but usually does not offer other meals Generally, guests are accommodated in private bedrooms with private bathrooms, or in a suite of rooms including an en suite bathroom. Some homes have private bedrooms with a bathroom which is shared with other guests. Breakfast is served in the bedroom, a dining room, or the host's kitchen. Bed and Breakfast - Traditional The host and guests are accommodated either in the same building or the guests in accommodation external to that building. Accommodation will provide up to and including 5 guest bedrooms.- Breakfast MUST be included in the tariff and prepared by hosts Bed and Breakfast - Self-Contained May be open plan or have separate rooms but offers facilities to enable the guest to be self contained with bathroom, kitchenette or full cooking facilities. May be adjoining to another building or home and have a separate or private entrance. Breakfast MUST be included in the tariff and either prepared by hosts or breakfast provisions to be provided for the stay. Bed and Breakfast - Farmstay Situated on a rural property or farm with involvement in farm activities, tours and experiences - may be offered on the property or at nearby working farms. Breakfast MUST be included in the tariff and either prepared by hosts or breakfast provisions to be provided for the stay.
Boutique Accommodation A larger establishment with more than 5 guest rooms - may be a historic home, country manor house or purpose built accommodation for guests. The owner or manager may reside in separate quarters on or off the property. Common guest areas, dining and catering may be available. Breakfast MUST be included in the tariff and either prepared by hosts or breakfast provisions to be provided for the stay. |
